Title as such because it is one of the very rare days where Manchester is greeted with GREAT WEATHER.

Sad, yes. Rain, wind and gloominess is what's normally in set for this town. However, today we got ample, plenty, TONNES of bright blazing blinding sunshine. Note; not complaining.. fingers crossed we get more of this.

Anyway, I've finally squeezed out some time for outside-of-uni stuff i.e replying emails, watching shows and I suppose updating this long abandoned blog. Hmm, is it just me or do people tend to stop blogging nowadays?

Really, I have nothing to say. I'll probably turn in early today considering how much lack of sleep and over-staring at Excel spreadsheets has killed my cornea (even more than it's already damaged).

Happy Chinese New Year!

It's my first celebrating without the familia, and boy must I say it's a very different feeling. Though I do admit, I'm pretty glad I don't have to endure the long-scorching hot weather, butt-flattening 3 hours (excluding congestion) ride back to my kampung.

but I do miss,

hanging out with my cousins
laughing over idol auditions when they screen at night on singapore's channel 5.
playing cards
whacking mosquitoes together (lol?)
getting spammed (and spamming) people's phones at midnight of chinese new year
telling mommy/aunty/cousin for an extra 10 minutes of sleep instead of waking up for breakfast
waiting in line for the washroom
yee sang! (random fact: did you know it's more of a malaysian thing?! they don't have it here!)

etc.

oh, and also, Happy Valentine's Day!

plus, to those of you who've left to add to the population of friends in Australia and everywhere around the world, good luck :) and i miss you guys heaps! now we're further apart, though I must say time difference is on our side now :):)

Certainly has been a while since I blabbered about life's happenings.

Semester One exams just over and done with. THANK GOD. One month of guilty-pleasure-filled holidays and two weeks of intense exams (well not exactly but for exaggerating purposes lol).. definitely causes pimple-popping incidents. UGH.

Anyways, so yeah for the month of JANUARY 2010, I ;

1. Celebrated the incoming of 2010.
2. Celebrated annie's birthday!

In which we bought the most gorgeous present one has ever seen.
hand-painted-balls on necklace. ROFL. costs "35 pounds" aight!

but 'cause we're so thoughtful, we figured she might like a bear too. and good 'ol Pei Hau decided to name it.... *refer to photo below*

3. had exams =(
4. stressed so much over exams for the first time in my life. seriously.

Oh and yesterday, annie, pei hau and ying jie came over to drop kinder bueno and kitkat for me. AWWW! hope that brought some extra luck to me =)))

Which came in handy as breakfast this morning. That's what happened when I only got 3 hours of sleep for my paper =(

You know how in the movies the snow makes everything look so nice and pretty, and peaceful?

my attempt to write on snow with my left hand. not bad yeah?

Well those aren't lies. They're just, part of the real scene.

Snow falls on ground. turns into ice. turns into sludge.

makes everything dirty. makes everything slippery. makes it that much harder to walk. makes it fun to slide.

you know like the scene in The Day After Tomorrow where Jake Gyllenhaal's dad (in the movie) "meredah salji" to get to him or something? That's how I felt when I had to walk home in the snow.

Things get really pretty after the snowfall. It's like living in one of those Christmas cards from Clinton or Paperchase. There was one day though, it looked more like a snowstorm. Everything was gloomy and snow was falling heavily, it feels like we live in an ice kacang machine.

Snow fights, snow man, holding onto each other when we're slipping off the ice/sludge/snow/slippery stuff.

Since we're on a snow-topic and it's December, and what, it's Christmas! there're several Christmas Markets around..

Selling all sorts of stuff; food, desserts, candies, wooly stuff, gorgeous (thus, pricey) decors etc.

Okay, other than snow. We've officially completed SemOne of YearOne of Uni! that calls for a celebrattttiiionnnnn! (or just another excuse to make ourselves feel better when eating out. lol)

After class, headed for coffee with the doink.

Then Nando's for lunch-dinner.

Thus we lead to the start of Winter/Christmas Break.. which we are almost 1/4th into it already.

And so after classes we headed over to her place, before so, heading to Sainsbury on a hunt for marshmellows (explained later). In the process, me attempting to speak fluent Mandarin-and them mocking me =(

Call me cliche but time really does fly; whaddaya know it's December already! Seems like 3 weeks ago, I just took a flight here and bawled my eyes out (ok not so extreme) for leaving home. It's almost 3 months that I've been in this foreign land.. and! well, i must say, 11 months since when I thought it was gonna be such a loooooong 9-month-break for me.

Some have already completed UPSR-start to finish, really does move you when you see those kids accomplish something; as if being there with them from start to end. Then there's the Aus people who whaddaya know! are done with FIRST YEAR (and i'm not even done with first SEM.).

So anyway! it's december! which means..

CHRISTMAS!!!

and winter break.. but that also means exams after. PFFT. SCREW YOU, EXAMS!

Btw, that also meant temperature DROP. So this morning it was -2 degrees Celcius at 9am! and somehow, psychologically, everyone decided to start wearing winter jacket's today. LOL, really fun actually. I'll be proud to state that I, too, wore my newly-purchased NEXT winter coat too. teehee!

Classes, then home and did lab report with.. 4 peeps in my tiny room. Had dinner with the boys; chicken and spag. YUMMY!

Last wednesday (ORANGE WEDNESDAYS!) headed over to Odeon at Printworks to watch 2012. Ohboy. Some were saying it's bad, some said it's good; I say it's somewhere in the middle. Story line is somewhat cliche and expected, but overall I think it's a pretty decent movie. One I wouldn't mind watching again; on telly of course, not paying another 5.50 pounds for it.

Though I must say, cinemas here are pretty... interesting. You get to pick your seats =)) Which means, you don't have to buy tickets 2 days in advance for good seats, like in GSC. Maybe just turn up half hour before.

After that was Nandos for dinner.. people here, no wait, guys here are just CRAZY for Nandos. Seriously.

Anyways, it was a fun night out.

Then on Saturday the crew headed over to Trafford Centre, and being thrifty people and with brains, we wanted to optimise our DayRider. Stopped off at Old Trafford, snapped some photos.. MegaStore, and finally of course off to Trafford Centre. Nothing much to get from there..

Guys went to Asda to get groceries and went back to my place to cook dinner!

Surreal moment: Guys did groceries, went home and COOKED.. while the girls just went shopping =))

This is my future.

Oh yes, I mustn't neglect to mention that THEY ALMOST BURNT DOWN MY KITCHEN.

Dinner was nice tho. Like home-cooked meal :) Goodjob boys!

So here's something for you; a post before I call it a night! ohboy. pretty fun. It's a great day!!

Last weekend we headed to Cheshire Oaks-designer outlet. Nothing seemed to have changed since the last time I visited, I'd say 2-3 years ago? Nevertheless, got a pair of adidas at pretty good pricel 27 pounds. Decent enough. And everyone was mocking my current pair which looks... like shit-literally. oh poo! I still haven't gotten to taking it out of the blue box and wearing it around yet, mind you. I wanna retain its white-ness for a little while longer.

Nothing great there; brands and stuff. not cheap! US outlets somehow are much better in terms of shopping. uhhm..

What else.. Oh yes, I got some stuff from GAP. and basically that was it??? I had my first Starbucks since beginning life in Manchester. Ironically, my first cuppa wasn't in Manchester. Ohboy! THAT DOESNT COUNT NOW DOES IT?? More starbucks for me!! :D

By the time we got home was around.. 5pm?? Headed home to dump the stuff, Josh got locked out of his own place.. Went for dinner; THAIIIIII. ohboy. Thai iced tea. tom yum. ohboy! Then walking around, camwhoring at the Manchester WHEEEEEEL and off to Ekta's crib which is insanely gorgeous. Apparently I wasn't quite myself that night; ohpooo! they've only known me for 2 months :P

Okay. that was breezy. Time for bed now. PFFT. It's a good day today!

Christmas Lights in Manchester!

Last Thursday the crew headed over to Albert Square under the heavy rain-very much like Malaysian heavy showers, to observe the switching of Christmas Light in Manchester. 5:00pm meeting time, as usual leave at 5:40pm, reached Albert Sq by 6.15pm.

Stage area was packed; so we took the next best position.. in front of the screen [which btw, had a 1.5 minute delay between image and sound].

Performances by Mr. Hudson [imsorryidkwho'sthat] and Alexandra Burke [which was pretty awesome and made me find her album].

The girl from Britain's Got Talent, some other girl singing..

Also featured was the street performer outside Arndale; I've seen him quite a few times singing there.

After an hour or so it was time to flip the switch! Santa lit up followed by blasts of fireworks. I find this one much nicer compared to the previous one at Platt's. Maybe cause this one has a better view; coming out from a building rather than just a measly tree. Oh I can picture myself during New Year watching this at the Big Ben, just maybe.

Done with the fireworks.. off the crowd goes.

We headed over to Sus', ordered pizza, bought dessert from Sainsbury's and realised we didn't have enough spoons. and Thus, headed over to my place. for spoons. LOL.

Found out it was Fiqa's bday when we were in Manchester... being the crew, we NEVER miss a birthday. Hence, CELEBRATION!

Ok so after Nottingham Games, the next most significant event was the Fireworks Display. What's the occassion?-beats me!

Walked for somewhat 30 minutes or so, past (or half) of Curry Mile and yeah to Platt Fields Park or something. Fireworks, and then walk home :S

Besides that, nothing much I have to say really.

Oh wait probably next up is the guys cooking at Josh's place last weekend. Chicken Tikka again. We are SO gonna have that dish every single time until we perfect it.

Nottingham Games

Think I should blog on a more regular basis so as to not get lazy and forget about... stuff that happened. Hmm, memory getting bad. LOL!

So the weekend before last we headed to Nottingham. Pretty great considering I only had 3 hours or so of sleep. Woke up at half past three and headed to Student Union to then wait for the bus which was late and thus walked around to find food but unfortunately unlike Malaysia, mcD's here aren't 24/7........... and they don't open at 4am. [Well it has come to my knowledge that mcD's on Oxford Road is 24/2; Fridays-Saturday]

Anyway, 2 hour bus ride to Nottingham. for Nottingham Games... some event for all (Malaysians) around UK to participate etc. and best of all.. MALAYSIAN FOOD. ohboy. I wouldn't say it's as good as Village Park's nasi lemak or Kajang satay, but hey! I'm pleased with what I can get.

Met a WHOLE LOT of Malaysians/DU/old friends there. Chrystal, Kim, Kenny, Jun Xuen, Jeremy, (and for Farahin..) Mikey etc.

Nottingham campus is really nice, green and.. peaceful.

A bit too peaceful if you'll ask me to stay there for 3 years.

Headed to football pitch which was a freaky-long-ride away from campus. In the bus I swear we thought the bus was taking us to Birmingham or whatever. So yes, Shaun and Luiz playing footie.

Shaun being referee. - which was most interesting part of the day considering the teams fought. BITCH FIGHT!!!

The boys at their game against London blablabla.

Headed to Town after that.. sat the tram from one end to the other. with the day rider- which has mcD coupon printed on its behind! :P I have yet to use it.

Went back to campus, waited for the bus home.

Then there we are.. back in Manchester! Makes me appreciate Manchester even more :) The not overly-city-ish feels good.

Ok enough crap. So today is 30th September! It's the end of September! October comes in 3 hours and 24 minutes.

So yesterday was the Malaysian Society Ice Breaker event thing, really great. Met lotsa people again.. While waiting for the bus, on the bus, in line for food, at the dining area, sitting around. Just everywhere.

Okay this sounds like some childplay post. I'm just so bored. Successfully kept awake during these 2 days lectures.. tomorrow's the start of the wtv-controller project. So wish me luck! :) Thou shall continue youtube-ing now..

Week 0.

In uni-language, Fresher's Week is otherwise known as Week 0. LOL! I find that kinda cool, term-wise; you know, James Bond-ishly.

Anyway, it's been quite an emotional hell-ish week. Just homesick I guess. Having to do everything on my own now; live alone, eat alone, walk alone, cook alone-or rather, cook for myself. Basically just being alone; general terms. It's time to fend for myself! Sigh. I hate that, I love comfort zone at home. No worries about anything other than "Ohno! I'm gonna miss HIMYM on tv!!"

You never really appreciate things in life till you've lost it.

So anyhoos! Week 0; I had to sit for a Maths Diagnostic Test on Friday.. and results are out! Boy that was fast! and I must say I surprise myself =)))

For if it weren't for you two, this certainly would've just.. been.. even more impossible! =)

Start of Another Chapter.

Changes, people often go through. Good or bad, you and I, we don't really have a choice, now do we?

After 3-4 years of anticipating uni life in the UK, it's finally here! It used to be so exciting, the thought of living alone in a country with 4 seasons, british accents, different environment, people; a whole new version of life. Now that I'm finally living in the "dream", it doesn't seem all that exciting at all.

Okay, pardon me. Ask me again in 3-6 months, my answer will probably be different, no wait. HOPEFULLY be different. I'm just really, blurred out for these few days and probably with weeks to come. I've been here for 4 days already! Didn't seem that long. That's quick!

Going to university, for someone who has never lived independently without my parents for more than 3 months, is really more challenging than asking me to jump down a 30-storey building. Mornings are great, with friends and all, come to night time or times when you're alone and have time to just, think of nonsense, your heart kinda hits home.

So for those of you asking, here are some pics around.

A Short Update

I've been in Manchester for just slightly over 2 days now..

How do I like it? People are all smiles, nice and all. Too early to make a judgement call but so far I'm liking it.

Made some new friends, which hopefully is gonna expand more and more each day.

I'm pretty, homesick in a way. It's totally out of Comfort Zone coming out here alone. Sometimes I just wish that changes are not hard to adapt to, but who am I kidding. It's life..

Orientation ends tomorrow and then starts Fresher's Week. Then, serious work comes along. Hopefully that'll get my mind off thinking about comfort zone.

For now, I'm sitting in my small room for the next 9 months, blogging, chatting, and hating the annoying door-slams-sounds of the corridors..

So I thought I'll breeze through the happenings of the past few weeks. Based on my piled up folders of photos.. it's:

That's quite a number.. So in short.. :

1. Su Wen's Bday; Souled Out

Wennie, my dear crazyfanofyoutubecoverssingers, turned 19th last month! Headed to Souled Out to have celebratory dinner! More pics on FB.

2. Merdeka Picnic; Tmn Tasik Perdana

So Gen's been wanting to have a picnic for quite some time; what better than to have it on Merdeka Day itself! 31Aug09! Meeting point-Gen's. Left for KL and roamed from one end of the park to the other, just to find a spot :) It was either, too many ants, not nice location, or Chip's "Hey, that place there looks nicer!".. =))) So in the end we settled for a beautiful pondok.

3. Ou; with Chuchak

That Monday, went to Ou with my dear kawan-kerja; Chuchak. Fish & Co. then the Secret Garden roof on top which was pretty.. empty? In the sense, hardly any people except gardeners. AND A HUGE BUG/BEE!!!! Then some Eddie Murphy movie, which wasn't as cliche-kiddy as seemed, and then shopping =))

I miss working with you Chuchak! All the more when we're on a 7-hour-time-difference.

4. Family Farewell; Damansara Palace

Like every other kid leaving home for the first time for uni, we have our usual big gangbang family dinner. Time well spent with the family, the people I grew up getting so used to having them around anytime, anywhere, anyhow :) I'm gonna miss the big yummy-family dinners =/

5. Family dIIner; Lala Chong

Lol, yes, just the next day after big family farewell, another family dinner! Slightly smaller though :) At Lala Chong.. had satay. LOLS

6. S3; Sunway

Went over to Pyramid to meet up with the S3 gang, minus the Aussie ones, who were present via the green-cow-beanie-pillow LOLS.. Lunch was.. interesting, took us a whole lot of time to finally decide to have what is supposed to be a "Chicken Buffet";

HEY VOO, ALL THE CHEEEKEN YUU CAN EAT! O.O

Then, movie; queue was horribly long and lady at the counter was equally attitude-problem. Ended up watching... nothing ><>

THANK YOU TO YEANNIE, KANG, VOO, CHEECHEE, BOBBY, WEI HSIEN, SHULING, KANE for beanie pillow =))) I've already packed it in my suitcase

7. Yeannie + Kampachi; MY HAUS + EQUATORIAL HOTEL

Hmm, come to think of it, putting there "my house and hotel" just don't seem to right in one sentence. teehee! Hello Yeannie! =) This shall be highlight of the list.. "Lucky No. 7"; that's a movie right? Or was that Slevin? Ahh wth.

This is what we did. She came over, we went out for Hokkien Mee.. then we came home. AND STARTED ROLLING NEWSPAPER STRIPS TILL 3AM! Lol, what a great, memorable way to spend my last weekend in Malaysia =))) And hey, you must know that, I roll good, hard, strong, thin, newspaper sticks =) What am I doing in an engineering course.. I should be a roller. ROFL

The next day, we headed to Kampachi, Hotel Equatorial for... JAPANESE FOOD.

8. Jati Farewell Dinner; Chef & Brew

We had our Farewell Dinner at Chef&Brew in, i-dont-know-where.. Okay I think it's Medan Damansara? Go google if you really need to know.

Was great meeting everyone up before we go separate ways and probably only meet once a year, if not once in few years.

9. Kim Gary's; Weiks, Rach, Wennie

Today we headed to Kim Gary's in Curve for some snack-binge =)) Apart from seeing them one more time before I return next year, or one of them, if not ALL of them, come visit me in Manchester =))

So there you have it, my not-so-speedy-briefy info about what's been keeping me so busy that I haven't had time to update.

I leave in 23 hours 46 minutes.

District 9

After getting stuck more than an hour in traffic jam from KL back to PJ, I saw the ad for the movie District 9, and I noticed the sign board in the ad says "Kawasan Larangan Manusia". Didn't know people in Johannesburg speak BM. LOL!

Anyhoos, watched District 9 along with Jo and Nat ystd. I applaud Jo for straight face and eyes stuck to the screen throughout the WHOLE movie. As for Nat, LOLx. As for me! semi-LOLx too.. Long fringe helps in situations like these, as well as the "oh god ewww", "omg what?", "ewww gross" and well, use your own discretion to figure out.

Nevertheless, after what seemed like a never-ending revolting and torture scenes, it's a good movie really! I was expecting myself to not enjoy it as much as people say it is, because well, aliens? Not my kinda thing.

But District 9 was a movie well done. Checklist:

1. Disgusting - Check!

2. Exploding flesh - Check!

3. Funny scenes - Check!!

4. Touching scenes - Check!

5. Using 'f.ck' in a context more than 3 times per 10 minutes - Double Check!!

On a separate note, after the movie us three did some photo-takings and sat at Starbucks. Coffee, chats and sudden pours of rain; watching the two men run for cover with their precious notebooks before they're drenched with rain water..

Went to collect new spectacles ystd, along with my set of trial contact lenses; B&L. Ahahaha, the Wang Lee Hom contacts =P

Anyhows, guy said I did it in record time; taking out and putting in-no more than 10 minutes. Mehh, i think it's just his sales tactic.. Or trying to boost my confidence of sticking it into my eye like that.

I tried again today and.. took me much longer than 10 minutes! more like 10 minutes to stick one side in! Good Luck to me when I take it out later =S O-boi!

One problem though.. it doesnt seem to be very sharp?? It's not blur.. pretty clear.. but not very sharp, at times. Like now, all seems normal. Hmm, maybe needs some getting used to? Or power's a problem.. Hmm..

I'm really just using this as a self-consolation; trying to make myself believe that we really should do good deeds.

Okay, so my mum barged into my room this morning, very early in the morning, according my "personal clock".. and told me

"YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR INJECTIONS TODAY OKAY. GET UP QUICK"

The plan was really to get my blood test and stuff done on Monday. Then of course, my mum ONLY listens to doctors, (I really do think she's meant to be a doctor.. It's not too late to start studying now right..) and good ol doc said there's no need for blood test blabla, just injections and X-ray.

So whoopee! I had to wait a whole hour at the clinic and finally got stung 3 times with that very thin, shiny, fluid-squirting needle. THREE WHOLE TIMES. Doc even said.. "since you're taking three, you get to pick which side gets 2 and the other, 1!" (Haha, joker!)

WHOOOPEEE HOOOORAAYYYY =.=

Anyway, I've always been pretty good with needles. Though till now my left arm (twice stung, no mumps.. LOLOL ROFL PLS.) still feels kinda weird.

So that's that. Then I went to get my eyes checked.. and my power; surprising and thankfully, went down! Well of course I think it just kinda transferred to the other eye. Nevertheless, new pair next week!

Question now is, should I attempt for contact lenses? I'm probably getting a trial pair for fun.

After lunch today, went shopping for UK supplies in OU.

Bought pants, light jacket and more pants at FOS today. Mum bought a pants too. All for what, just touching RM100. Cheap must say. I was almost going to buy the dress to; RM 50. But there was a torn part ><>

Anyways, went over to M&S 'cause mummy wanted to check out some clothes there. Hey it says "FURTHER REDUCTIONS" Lol. So daddy and I were just sitting around waiting for her, till I saw this pretty cute wedges. Shoes-wedges I mean. I took my size and went to put it on.

Dad's reaction was just: "ah, buy lah."

While I was fooling around in front of the mirror, mummy got out of the changing rooms and did a never-seen-before, jaw-dropping-PLUS-gasp! expression. No joke!

Before leaving, I managed to snap a shot of the wedges. Sadly, none of my mum's EPIC REACTION. LOL.

It's at least 5-inches high. RM170+ even AFTER discount. If I see it at 10 pounds in the UK, I'll definitely get it! Even if I don't survive walking around Manchester in it. HAHAHAHAHAHA

I got this book off the bookshelf at MPH way back in February and well, turns out; great choice! I think this is pretty great; better than some of Nicholas Sparks'. I think it's gonna be the first book that I'm going to re-read in my life. - not because it's made into a movie, but.. just because

It's got a pretty cliche-romantic storyline. But it's really the story in-between that sinks deep in. I hope the movie isn't all screwed up; like what they did to PS, I Love You (in my opinion)

My mum's paranoia a.k.a "precautionary measures" against ze maid, has caused us to be locked out of our rooms today. LOL-worthy people!

So yes, intelligently, we locked ALL doors neglecting the fact that the keys were still in the bag, which was still in the room. JOLLY.

Anyway, I had to attempt to pick the lock(s) and.. failed kinda. BUT In the end, it worked lah! To think I'd ever experience breaking into my own room.

Speaking of breaking in, when I was young I saw a guy try to break into a car, but using a long ruler down the window of a car?? I suppose to unlock. Hey, I was too young to know that one could PICK LOCKS, what more steal a car. Whaddaya know, maybe he was helping another fella who stupidly locked his keys in the car! WHICH, I must say, happened to my parents before. LOL!

Life.

It's about time I go back to blogging. Since I'm having a TAD BIT of blogging mojo here. I'll try to fit the past happenings into one post =)))

Besides the annual family birthday gathering, this year, how lucky I was to be able to celebrate on the day itself with cousins, nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles.. and friends as well! *ahemhuiwenahemeigenting*..

Then the weekend was left for my good buddies :) *ahemincludeseigentingaswell*.. Had suuuuuushi.. Well not really, japanese food; somehow or rather always associated with sushi.

Then there was the surprise bday/gathering dinner. THANKYOUGUYS.

and then came July.. Daddy's Birthday! and of course, dear 'ol Jojo honeymunchkins.lol and dearest Manissa! Happy Birthday once again my dearS =) And then there were the birthdays of cousins.

And coincidentally, today is my Chem tuition buddy; professor,'s birthday! =)

It's not drugs this time (thankfully..). Really, just the "natural way" of passing. Cardiac arrest; it's not even a heart attack, Right? I've got no medical knowledge whatsoever, so I stand to be corrected, my dear medically-inclined friends and family.

Michael Jackson. RIP Michael Jackson.

Though, this piece of tragic news doesn't affect me deeply, it's still sad to hear that someone I grew up listening to (okay not really, that was Britney Spears!) has passed on. This just really reminds me of last year when we heard about Heath Ledger's news. The world is left to deal with yet another legendary hole to fill.

To think that during my last trip to London in May, I was on the verge of purchasing a ticket to watch the Thriller musical. And also, thinking of the million (or billion; i-dont-know) sell out concerts in London which was supposed to start in what? July right? that's only few days to go. SOBS!

Anyway, it's still sinking in lah.

Just goes to show how you can never predict life.

Relatives have all fleed the country and back to their own, far-far-far awayyyy. I miss them. (aww) Alright, not THAT far. Just one hour's plane ride a.k.a 5 hours bus ride down south.

This house was filled to the brim with visitors for the past 5 days. Okay, exaggeration. But 9 people in a double storey terrace doesn't exactly meet fire safety regulations right? ahh, who cares when you're having fun!

Hence, this explains the lack of blogging.

Was fiddling around with my mobile last night, texting a friend. Till, the metal piece of flap dropped out and was left hanging. I thought the only thing holding it's life there onto the phone, was really a string. Turns out, it was a dangly string of glue.

I'm blogging now from my revived-again desktop. And I literally mean, "revived-again", although it may be in the same context as "repeat again", because.. I revived the desktop and then it died again, and alive again; hence, "revived-again"

Okay, so desktop solved. Now what? My 1TB external hard disk died. Bloody fell on the floor and immediate death =(((( *a moment of silence for all my data in there*
Which also explains the lack of photo in my previous, and last post about London..

At work, I also had to face the notebook screen for a whole 2 hours getting the order form, spreadsheet right. Double checking too.

I then came home to a house with a man standing 7 feet high, flexing his muscles.. fixing in my new fan!!! ceiling fan. Remote-controlled okay? ;) *jakun-ness sorry* and his partner/friend/colleague was upstairs, fixing in the new water heater for my bathroom! JOY. no more pathetic drop-wise watter pressure, no more!

What else? I guess thats about all the things that electrically-influenced me today.

London (7): The Last Supper

No, I'm not talking about Leonardo Da Vinci's painting. I'm speaking in literal terms..

This'll be the last of it you'll read about my London trip. (Scream for joy and relieve people!)

Foodfoodfood. Not much left to blog about the last few days there..

Second last day in London we decided to give home-cooking a go! I cooked; whooo!~

Breakfast: Omelette with prawns (chun la okay, not everyone can whip up an evenly, just-nicely-burnt omelette; not forgetting.. WITH prawns! *applause*)

And also, because my mum claims dumping my bro in UK for the past 3-4 years alone has made him a decently great chef.. she made him teach me how to cook. Presenting, HIS egg. (telur ayam okei.. )

Obviously mine looks much better :) Like the sun rising with prawns at its core. LAWL wtf.

Lunch, we had *oink oink* pig. sorry a bit tak halal here =((

Nearby Angel, went to have pork knuckle and sausages :D and beer, of course =)))

Night time! decided to cook at home (again..) and well (again..) I cooked; with my bro of course.

Went to M&S to get some steak yummmm!~

I swear I wont pay a single cent to have steak in Jake's Place, Victoria Station or whatever other places who sell totally overpriced not-to-say-very-excellent steak in Malaysia anymore! One piece of steak there only costs like what, 8 pounds? That's approximately.. RM 50 the most! Don't even need to marinade or what sort. Just pop it on the pan =)

So bro was in charge of that, and I did decor and.. well.. more eggs. LOL. and mushrooms; yum! The only thing that sucked was definitely the mushy-over-boiled brocolli. You know why?

BECAUSE MY MUM BOILED 'EM!

Oh and so happened, champagne was on offer at M&S that day.. So CHAMPAGNE!!

All in all. Great dinner. Really not 100% because of the taste and stuff, I'd say more because it was a family-affair cook-out kinda thing =)

We also had Korean at a shop near or in Leicester Square. Pretty great food. I was never a fan of Korean food, not all that much anyway, but I'd say this is really good. We went there TWICE in the course of 3 weeks we were there =)

And to top the trip off, Haagen Dazs. No offer though, 3.99 pounds for that =(( What normally would've probably cost 4 pounds for two tubs? Idk man.

London (6): Free. Wicked! Artifacts

I've been back breathing the Malaysian air for almost a week plus now and I really haven't finished blogging about my trip. (before my memory fails me) Not many photos to be uploaded though. Thanks to, mums lagging laptop, slowpoke internet and dying desktop. Solution to those problems should really be: buying me my first notebook :) LOL. like that'll happen anytime soon

So 6th post about London entitled, as above.. shall start with my visit to the museums. If I'm not mistaken I think I blogged about visiting National Portrait Gallery and National Gallery or something like that? Another day, I went to check out the National British Museum. Yups, the one everyone automatically thinks of once you put British and Museum in the same line. The nearest tube station was Tottenhan Court Road (i think..) and while walking aimlessly to find the place, I spotted the Hairspray Musical Theatre! JOY!- and I swear, somewhere while walking, I saw the China dude sitting opposite us at the Korean restaurant a few days before. Seriously! No, I didn't recognise him 'cause he was drop-dead-gorgeous, more like.. he talked so loudly and sounded, and kinda looked, so much like those actors in some Taiwanese drama. No kidding!

Anyway, near to the museum.. obviously a tourist spot. Tonnes of souvenir shops and restaurants. No other choice but to feed myself in one of the rip-off cafes serving fish and chips for bloody whole 6 pounds 95 pence! And it's no where near as tasty as the 4 pound one I had in the Chinese-owned-chippy place near Heathrow!

Anyway, back to the museum.. free entry! (that makes the place a whole lot nicer to visit. rofl, I'm cheap, sue me :P) Front entrance, "hmm, it's alright." Walk further once inside the building, "STUNNING". Okay, not as stunning as Royal Albert Hall, but a very nice design, and the way the natural sunlight shines through, it's really good architecture. To me, that is =) Don't compare me to some fabuloso architecto. Attempted to walk through floors, but the map itself scared the heck out of us.. So we just decided to check out the Mummies and some Asian history laaa :)

Then there's this Jade exhibition thingy, which was really probably the most interesting part besides the mummies. Apparently, we're not allowed to take photos in there. Whoopsies!

That night, we went to catch a musical; Wicked! Man, was it bloody awesome or what. I was never too keen on going for musicals, but it was a wicked cool. awesome. interesting. *throw in more expressive words here* experience. Honestly, I pictured one of the people there becoming like Adam Lambert, or as AdamL. Lawl.

No photos for this 'cause no photography allowed. Well, I'm Asian so this never applies to me strictly. I did sneak a photo or two on my phone :) They did allow photos before the show started though.

For some reason, one of those days, it was like Freebies Day! People giving out free stuff everywhere. Well not everywhere, but free stuff to take! Free Evening Standard (newspaper la) and free KitKat with thelondonpaper. I was walking about Regent Street and this guy outside United Colours of Benetton just went to me (and everyone else) "FREE CHOCOLATE!!! TAKE!!!" LOL. And some smart-ass menyahut his seruan and went over to get one but was rejected.. :( Lady went "you only get it free with thelondonpaper!" and he walked off o.O!

Mr. if so happen you're reading this after googling something and found this page.. thelondonpaper is free okay? So free paper, gets you free chocolate.. why not!

Don't remember what other free stuff there were but yeah, that should be declared "free Bs day" :) Oh and while flicking through the free papers.. Look what I found!

Since most people (or maybe only me) don't read headers when they read other ppls blogs.. i'm noting this again..

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Okay, so I went on a "series marathon today"; watching Grey's Season 5 finale (yes, i still watch greys ><) and 6 episodes of Ugly Betty, which also includes the finale..

I must say.. (okay, not much of a spoiler here but kinda a peek though. Most of you probably have already watched it, but those who haven't.. LOL, it's time u hop to another blog)

Greys first.. The ending was, somewhat shocking and saddening-kinda.. Not because of Izzie but the other person.. and it also sucks to have to wait and see them all alive in the next season, which probably starts when I'm off to a country which doesn't allow "an alternate way to watch these series", or to be more precise, which strictly prohibits "these alternative ways" .. (oops don't arrest me pls =(((( )

and then there's the other thing.. it's already FIVE seasons into greys and they're STILL NOT MARRIED! (well at least not officially..) PFFFTS!

But I must say, greys was getting a lil draggy-boring over the seasons, but I think the finale kinda brought that "i want to continue watching" thing back. Not as saddening as the Danny dying episode though. (hmm, or was it Denny? ahh wtv)

As for Ugly Betty.. so twisty and draggy too. Ahh.. script-writers.

Summer months are gonna be so boring since there are no shows to watch. No idol, no Greys,GG,Ugly Betty, other random shows. Gah! Will just have to watch movies then. GSC here i come! :)

Okay, so while waiting (and praying that my com doesn't crash till it's done) for my series' to finish burning onto dvd.. I'm listening to the new Idol song for this season (8); No Boundaries.

It's been hitting headlines, not really because it's not Kris Allen's song or whatsoever (at least this is not what I'm getting to..) but because it's written by Kara whats-her-name. Oh wait, I just googled it, it's Kara Dioguardi. Sorry!

They've been mocking the song because of the lyrics.

Hello, it's a winning song. It's meant to sound corny! It's meant to be about how you never gave up, stuck through tough times.. this that, finally made it. Seen the light blablabla.

and also, I think the song is probably more known to be "Kara's Song" than the name itself, or Kris Allen's song or.. Idol song. Pffts! I seriously think people are a bit over-biased against her.

No person takes changes easily, so this new person ain't easy to accept either.

And for the record, she wasn't the only writer.

Okay, this is a random post. But really, I feel in a way, unfair for her, that she's being so unaccepted by the "society". Wahaha, I make it sound like she's being shunned or something, which I honestly think at American Idol viewers community aspect, she's equivalent to that!

The Dark Horse Got His Way This Time

Congratulations Kris Allen (and Wennie, lol)

And another year has passed, another American Idol is crowned. This time it's the dark horse; Kris Allen!

Now my Wednesdays and Thursday evenings are a bore again. Needless to say, one topic of conversation is striked off.

You think he doesn't deserve it? In my opinion, I'm really seeing this season pretty much like last year's. They're both equally awesome in their own genres; the rocker and the laid-back easy ballad kinds.

One's got personality, one's too humble to be true. One holds his voice at any note; high or low at ease, the other has a nice feel-good voice. Both has great "artistry" changing tunes, making it, probably nicer than the original.

So I woke up at 5am today, not because I was so bloody excited about Idol finale, because honestly, I wasn't. I really can't be bothered who wins/won this season because MATT G out :( (okay, never expected him to win idol anyway. just ranting for fun)

This year's finale didn't seem all that fantastic-bombastic as previous years; or maybe just last year. I can't say for certain if it's 'cause I have no particular favourite in this finale as compared to last years; DAVID COOK. Wasn't as comedic either. I remember last year they had Mike Myers in his Love Guru suit, some Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and i-dont-know-who video. Stuff like that.

Anyway, I think the result this year is pretty much expected. With that, I mean, people expect Adam to win, but clearly that won't happen because well, Kris has tonnes of supporters. I mean really, the first person to get into top 3?? Getting out of elimination time after time as compared to Adam?? It's pretty obvious who has a stronger influence on the community. Adam has a pre-packaged star quality while Kris, not so, but I'm sure thats fixable. Look at Archuleta! Hehe.

Before you jump into conclusions thinking I'm a hopelessly-fanatic-adam fan, well I must admit, i am a fan, but not a fanatic for sure. I don't go all screams and tears for celebrities, maybe except Cook and James Morrison. Hehe!

So I'm looking forward to their upcoming albums, especially Adam, Allison and Kris.

Oh yes, and I thought Allison and Adam should've sang their rock duet again :( Today's best performance, I must say, is a tie between BEP and DAVID COOK. And also, great to see Kara perform. Haha, despite how much she talks, I think her voice is good and the songs she write are great.

You know what! I think they should've said, "ahh, this year the winner is DAVID COOK, AGAIN!!!!" WOOHOOOO!~ Lawl. Sue me.

London (5): University, not so.

Took a 50 minute tube ride to Uxbridge last Monday; all the way in zone 6.. Metropolitan line from Baker Street all the way to Uxbridge.. it was.. awful, the ride! So bumpy. But really, nothing beats the central line. Noisy, screechy.. and today's 50 minutes, or so.. ride to Newbury Park was really much like an underground-rollercoaster!

Anyway, to Uxbridge to visit Brunel University. Uhh, not all that impressive considering they promote their campus and "near-ity" to London so much.. I don't know, no offence, but not my kind of study environment.

Then to Loughborough the next day. A 90 minute train from St. Pancras, London. Then paid 1 pounds 40p just for a 15 minute bus ride to the university! Can you imagine! Me paying 1.40 pounds every single time I go into town or from one place to another! Town is definitely a must, to get groceries and all. And even the student union sells the things preeeeettty expensive. Well, not as low as I expected. Not such a small town afterall. Hehe!

The town is really nice and cozy. Not too busy as well. The university campus is really nice.. But it was quite quiet. Maybe it's 'cause it's exam season or something.. I dont know. But my friend says it gets pretty quiet there too. The sports complex is hugeeeee!! And the fascilities are pretty good too :)

I think, I'll most probably go to Manchester University. Not because Lboro was bad.. but the course there just isn't what I expected it to be when I applied. Considering I prefer Brunel's designs, Lboro certainly isn't my kind. Or not so..

Anyway, back from Lboro.. Went to Belgo's for dinner! Belgo is this Belgium restaurant in Covent Garden. Really cool underground-construction themed design going on. Last time I was there, we actually had to wait.. and then they'd transport us down to the restaurant using tihs gigantic construction-site kinda lift. Really cool.

And the toilet.. It's not exactly a ladies-men joined kind (like in Ally McBeal, do you remember that show?) but it's in the same spot, just Ladies come first, and Men is just right behind it. Nothing separating but the cubicle doors. But most appealing is definitely the sink! Big fountain looking thing. Step on the bar down there, and water comes out like fountain!

The last time I went there back in 07, the construction lift was working and.. the sink had a toilet-man there to.. give out tissues and all. I felt bad 'cause I didn't have any change to give him last time. Aww. Well this time I went, we had to WALK down the stairs, lift not in use :( and, man no more there! either he got sacked, got a better job, or became a waiter I guess. Cutting cost due to recession I suppose.

Nevertheless, food quality, definitely still there. The mussels are to-die-for!!! Fresh mussels steamed or blanched, don't know the fancy-schmancy chef term for it.. in clear soup or whatever choice you make. Mmmm! This time we tried their special too, lobster with steak. Not bad.. but mussels definitely better!

well the lobster don't come with the mussels, that's just an image of.. all the shells in the bucket. :)

I for one am not a mussel person. I loathe mussels, really because I have bad experience with them. The first time I had mussels, and second as well as third, was in Fremantle, Perth. I puked my guts out (gross!) So I've stayed away from mussels ever since. Even at buffets or spaghetti, mussels are my enemy. But I tried the Belgo's one the first time I went there, 'cause I was famished and well, they smell and look really good. And I DIDN"T PUKE, THANK GOD! Hence,

Served in a bucket with chips. 1kg of mussels is really all you need for a meal there. I must say, only the real Belgo-goers will know how to order those mussels as a meal. Like most people, I suppose, including me.. my first reaction when I heard only mussels for dinner was.. "what?? 1kg of mussels? Lao sai ah!" (lao sai = diaorrhea)

London (4): Some Shopping, maybe?

Hmm, let's see. I haven't been blogging for a while or at least not on a daily (or two) basis. So my memory is kinda failing me, I can't remember what I did on what day at what time.

Soooo.. lets see. The last post was about.. Trafalgar Sq and Westfield right? Okaaaay, so here goes. Starting from there..

So I didn't tell you about my trip to Bicester Village. (not BI-CHEST-ER; it's Bees-ter) It's about an hour's train ride to North something something, then a shuttle to the village itself. Okay I can't help but comment, the shuttle is what they call a 'taxibus'; as seen below..

It doesn't look in any way like a taxi, nor does it look in any way like a bus.

LOOKS MORE LIKE A FREAKING VAN. WHY CALL IT A TAXIBUS? So poshly-dumb-sounding. But, credit goes to.. this cool taxibus, which allows the phone to stick on its ownnnn! Waw.

So Bicester V is like a brands outlet. Like, branded goods; Ralph Lauren, Karen Millen, Dior, Gucci, Dolce kinda stuff on sale there. Well unfortunately, I bought nothing, but a panini for lunch from that place. However, bro and dad went a teeny bit shopping spree at the Ralph Lauren shop. Spending a whole 72 pounds on a shirt and a.. shirt :) Well, honestly speaking, I think it's reasonable, almost cheap. 'Cause, who gets to buy nice shirts from RL at.. about rm400! I mean seriously!

Although, I didn't contribute to the British economy during my trip to Bicester, I managed to capture a few nice images there. The waiting point for the 'taxibus' (image on left)..

Then at the train station, it was so ulu we had to walk up this blue metal bridge to get to the other side of the train station, very much like Loughborough (pronounced as laugh (with a happy ending to the pronunciation) buh-ruh)

The train took quite a while to get there.. that my bro decided to finish up his HoiSinDuckWrap.. from Pret-A-Manger. I like to pronounce it, the "Malaysian way" like cina style.. But bro says it's supposed to be frenchie-kinda.. prot-err-mon-jher.. Who knows which is real. I should really go google it or look it up. The latter, is me.. trying to look like him. Hoho, how unflattering.

Moving on..

We took a bus back from Paddington train station back to Queensway.. And had Khan's for dinner; another North Indian restaurant. My family really has this... fetish for Indian food when we're in the UK. Hmm..

They've got such a fancy description for our plain 'ol BREAD a.k.a ROTI!!!! HAHAHAHA! And Sheek Kebab, I guess that's where the expression "sheesh kebab" came from. huahuahua, lame.. okay =.=

Besides that, last Saturday, or was it Sunday.. we met up with my cousin, Cindy.. Decided to head over for some traditional Malaysian food at Bonda Cafe.

Peeps, it's really good reasonably priced Malaysian food! When I mean traditional Malaysian food.. I really just mean.. a decent mamak-style nasi goreng, and nasi kandar with some rendang and curry. Yummm!

On the way there.. Look what I found! it's a.. transporter!!!! LOL. It's like a motor scooter converted into a.. who knows what that is. IT'S SO CUTE!!!!!!!! like a, cross-breed.. producing a motorcycle lorry. HAHAHAHHA

Before we met up with her, we went shopping in the morning. UniQlo! The in-thing now I guess. We go through phases when buying stuff in the UK. Last time it was a GAP shopping spree, this time it's UniQlo! Really, their designs have became much better since the last time I was in their shop. Bro bought a new jacket from there. And we tested it out there and then on the streets of High Street Kensington! The girls didn't even turn their head.. Awww, how demoralising!

In conclusion, we think.. not cool enough la! Apparently in Taiwan or Hokkien, it's supposed to be.. "hen tiao" (sounds like some rude word lawl.) which directly translates to.. very cool la. So for the rest of the day I went "WAAAHHHH HEN TIAOOOOO" (of course out of sarcasm) LAWL.

Taiwanese friends, please enlighten me on the usage of this uhh.. sentence.

London (3): Let's Get Cultural!

The other day we went over to my bro's office. Lunch at Yang Cheng and then while waiting for him to get off work.. We went all cultural by going to the museums in Trafalgar Square!

Found the National Portrait Gallery and right behind it will be the National Gallery. Okay, I don't know why it's named like that.. but NPG wasn't all that impressive except for the entrace.. this view I like pretty much.

Oh yes, and the day before, I went over to the new shopping complex; Westfield out in Sheperd's Bush.. I'm sorry Mun You, no sight of Taylor Swift there. Saw her on tv that night though :)

Westfield is located just outside of the Sheperd's Bush tube station. Nice open-air kind of design, very new and modern-y.. Very big. Apparently, it's the biggest complex in UK or Europe or some place like that. I bought a belt from DP there :) The rest was just.. normal.

London (2): Graduating Into Life (Part 2)

Last Wednesday (6/5) was the Imperial Postgrad 08's graduation.. Boy was it superb.

Royal Albert Hall, on television looked so wow-ifying. It's as if the HD cameras recording the concert inside or something made it looked 30% more beautiful than it already is.. Seems like, my eyes of XXX power could be HD too, or maybe even more.

The sight inside the hall was just.. magnificent. I was gobsmacked just stepping into the box of our seats. You know, I always imagined it to be like when we learned Phantom of the Opera in literature back in, form 3 or 2, I can't remember. We were seated in BOXES! Like a real one with curtains and places to hang your coats. And then once you're seated, boy was the view amazing or beyond. No words can even describe how beautiful it was. At that point in time I was regretting on missing out on James Morrison performing live there last March.

So anyway after the ceremony, it was a reception at the Queen's Lawn in Imperial. Right after we headed over to a nearby crepe place. Yum-meh!

London (2): Graduating Into Life. Part one

I've been bumming in Imperial College for the past few days. Frankly, it's as if 60% of the student population comprises of foreigners; asians, europeans yadi yadi yada.

While waiting for the bro I took a walk around the school and found myself at the back, well not exactly since the Science and Technology (or whatever it is) department entrace is there, looking at a very postcard-slash-painting-worthy scenery. (click on pic to enlarge)

Then there was a building, emanating melodious tunes; what sounded very much like a trumpet and drums. Funny combination, I know. It was.. The Royal College of Music!! Where Mika came from..

(Hey guess what, I just heard on tv that they're showing Idol Top 4 performances tonight on iTV2! shouldn't have watched the blurry online streaming)

Nearby the college are museums; the National History Museum, Science Museum and The Victoria & Albert Museum (something like that..) For the Vict & Alb Museum, here's what was outside..

Those blasted-looking marks was really caused by blasting. Apparently, those are the remains of the Hitler bombing and the museum, well, preserved the physical-effects there on the wall. Inside Imperial too, there's a tall building standing near (or at) the Queens Lawn. According to my Imperial-tour-guide brother, that's the only building which withstand the Hitler bombing.

To kill time while waiting, I decided to enter the National History Museum for a quick-look. I thought it would be more well-suited to call it the Earth Museum or something; what with the big globe and rocks, water, wind and stuff.

well said.

After he was done, we went over to gourmet burger king (GBK; guh-ber-ck) for lunch. Huge burgers, deeee-licious! Not very small price. Lives up to its name; Gourmet Burger King.

Guh-ber-ck also serves ketchup in a bottle, just like most shops. However! This bottle is unlike any other, it's in the shape of a tomato!!!! Even the ketchup squished out of that tomato-shaped-plastic tastes better than normal! lawl.

Then coffee at Cafe Nero and.. after that dinner at Addies, a Thai restaunt up in Earl's Court with a new face! The brother's quote: "female friend" teehee.

London (1): Breathing in the English Air

Here's a wordy post about London. I'm so stuffed from the lobster, I'm gonna make this short.

After having my butt planted firmly onto seat 41A of the MH004 to Heathrow, London for a whopping 12 hours and 28 minutes, plus! a 13 minute delay at KLIA.. I finally reached Heathrow! Despite all the Swine Flu and stuff going on, not very stringent checks going around in the airport. I was expecting myself among a few hundred others queuing to get our temperature checked, some nurse sticking the wooden stick down my throat, a doc with a stethoscope listening to my heartbeat.. you get my point.

Heathrow! This would be my first time stepping foot there. Not as messy as my mum pictured it to be for the past 5 years or so to me.

The first night we bummed in Novotel Heathrow. Very nice. Looks ugly from the outside, but inside, they have a really nice modern asian design thing going on. And the rooms! High-techy! Even the tables are designed to move until you can reach the sofa, the flat screen too! And, just like any other Novotel hotels, they make sure you don't miss your shows or entertainment just 'cause you need to get clean i.e bathe, THEY HAVE SPEAKERS IN THE BATHROOM! I probably sound bloody 'jakun' here, but every time I see it, I'm impressed everytime. This time, the toilet bowl is in a separate room from the shower area, very much like my dear 'ol aunt's house in Aussieland. Saves time when there's more than one who wants to use the toilet at the same time, I suppose :P

Okay, next day. Heathrow express to Paddington. Terminal 5 of Heathrow, apparently is new. Thats where we had to go to get our tickets to the (i suppose also new) Heathrow express. 15 minutes from the airport to Paddington train station, what would normally take nearly half an hour by tube, or a whole hour by taxi. Bahhh, to me.. just a normal train.

So off to Grand Plaza Serviced Apartments down on Princes Square, Bayswater. Beeeeeeeeautiful! The dude had some mix up and instead of an executive studio, gave us a one bedroom apartment for the same price! Joyyy! Free internet dudes! How else would I be able to blog here.

Had lunch at Tuktuk, this thai restaurant nearby. Then a walk in Kensington Gardens. Nice scenery, great view.. SO MANY CUTE AND HUGE DOGS! You know me, I'm not much of a pet person, but the dogs are just.. they really look like those in the movies. There were also swans, and ducks.. as well as gooses (is that how it is for plural?) which made heck a lot of noise just swimming around in the pond! QUAAAAAAAKKKKKK! QUAAAACCKKKKKK... to think that they're flat and not-that-huge beaks could produce that much sound. ugh.

There are tonnes of food shops here in Bayswater.. More Chinese mostly.

If you're worried about not getting Halal food around there, fear not!

And if you just have this craving for roti canai, uhh, save it till you reach home to Malaysia again? RM 15+ for a roti canai????

Today.. nothing much going on. Woke up late.. Went to Imperial College with bro. Walked around while waiting for him.. took some great photos. The buildings here are just, so artistic. I mean, it really gives a good scene to capture into my 4GB SD Card.

Went to bro's office. Then off to Wetherspoon for lunch! Fish and Chips! YUMMMM!

Tried Classic Pimms, pretty good. I didn't get to see him mix it 'cause it was already pre-mixed. Nevertheless, tasted like tea, with alcohol plus mint leaves and lemon. Thirst-quenching alcoholic drink.

Walked around Leicester Square.. ICE CREAM TIME! Took a bus home. Went to Sainsbury to get groceries. Did laundry, had dinner..

Dinner at Mandarin Kitchen at the corner of Queensway station. Food is goooood, but really, not worth the money. Lobster noodles and the fish were great though. Really. Really. Really. GREAT! well I'm a prawn, fish and crab person so I suppose just give me one of those and I'm biased. =)

First advertisement on idol. Need to add some stuff about last night's performance since I was blog-speeding just now. Will I get fined by the "blog police" for speeding? WAHAHAHHAHA wtf.

Many ppl love Adam Lambert. I don't particularly support him solely. But he is great. His voice. His looks fit. His creativity. Most importantly, his personality. Watching him last night, I realised.. despite all the praises, support and enormous number of fans.. even a 80% chance of winning this whole thing from Hollywood days, he's still humble; down-to-earth. Really! You don't see him being all cocky [like Anoop, slightly or Lil Rounds who just defend defend defend..] Even if he doesn't mean it, he does make a good actor.

MattG. I wanted to add in, I think he might go.. or bottom 3. but please don't go although you're not that great! :(

Anoop. Besides the looks and whatever I complained about in the previous post, I HATE it when he stretches his high notes like his voice is so awesome. Honestly, it pains my ear. Either that or my Sony LCD speakers have issues.

Lastly. I really really really have to think and use up my lunch to understand and comprehend what Paula's critisim means.

With only 2 minutes to spare before the clock strikes 6:00pm.. or in this case, my digital clock turn 6:00..

I'm blogging about last night's idol show before the result show starts. To make it short, and quick..

1. Lil Rounds [2/5] - shouty.
2. Kris [4.5/5] - Really good rendition. I'm going to use an "idol" term; very original!. At the start I was really more into the beat than him, but towards the chorus.. great :)
3. Danny [4/5] - It really seemed to me like his very own concert :) And all the notes he hit was.. right on.. note! [haha, Kara said the same thing. Should I be glad.. or what?:P]
4. Allison [4/5] - Noisy. But vocals are superb, honestly.
5. Adam [5.. no 6!/5] - I could feel a tear forming. Mhmm, seriously! So moving.
6. Matt [ 4/5] - Sounded a bit messy to me. Vocals were almost reaching greatness there, but not quite either.
7. Anoop [ 3.5/5] - Hate the new look; looks like some playboy uncle wannabe. Was a tad bit "huh??" when the song suddenly stopped.

Okay okay they're playing the StarWorld thing they always do before they start a show!

One word : yeck. almost

I'm quite sure almost 60% of the society has heard of Jogoya, or at least the KL-PJ community has. You know, the one located at Starhill?

People have been telling me how oh-so-great that place is and I never took them for real. Considering it's somewhat expensive and, not that great, so to speak.
Since there's this promotion going on this month, and if I'm not mistaken, the previous.. we decided to give it a try and maybe become part of the "Jogoya-oh-so-great" community.

Here goes!

1. THE PEOPLE THERE. I have to make it clear, I'm not saying it's EVERYONE there, just a fraction of the people there.

They don't queue. They don't wait. They take their food as if there's shortage of food and they need to stock up for a tornado, hurricane or even war. especially at the sashimi section

The area with all the raw fishies, oysters and what not. First, the salmon place. I was queuing up to get some salmon, the uncle in front of me, took a whole lot! As if he can finish, even if so! he ought to have some brains and courtesy to actually let other people have some. IT'S A BUFFET FOR UNCLES SAKE, you don't have to take all at once! And for the price you're paying, I don't expect them to not refill after it's finished. Which leads us on to the next situation.. After he was done, I had to wait for the waiter to slice up somemore, actually I wouldn't even consider it slicing because it's HUGE! some of you may regard that as great, money's worth and stuff.. but it was like fishcakes! WTF? When the waiter finally did, some bloody aunty came and cut in front of me and just grabbed the tongs and tong-ed away the salmon onto her plate. I also saw one aunty who took at least 20 pieces, maybe 25-30 on her one tiny white buffet-plate.. If she's taking for her whole table, can't you at least split it up into two trips? She took enough to feed at least 10! Once again I state, it's not like you're stocking up for a hurricane or something!!!!!

Oyster section. The waiter took our plates and filled it with 2-3 oysters per plate. A lady, got her plate.. went on picking and god-knows-what-else-she-did-to-the-oyster.. and guess what? She put it back on the ice mountain, and asked the waiter to change =.= Dude, it wasn't even like the oyster was sour, not fresh or anything??

Ice cream section. They provide free-flow of Haagen Daz, which is probably tempting right now, but when you see the queue and the mentality. yeck once more. They have two ice cream chiller thingamajiggy.. which are perpendicular to each other, like an L shape. Common sense would tell you to start queing from the inside out, meaning, the vertical part out, right? Because behind the L shape is a dead-end, sort of. But noooo, some bastards queue from the other side. So you have two queues coming from both sides. wtf? And best thing is, when they meet at the junction to cross-over to the next side, they just cut in. WTF again. What's better is, each chiller thingy have their own set of scoops, but no! These kiasu people hold on to the ice cream-scoops like holding on to their lives! They take it along with them while queing for the next section of ice cream. Which leaves the remaining people at the other chiller, with no scoops.
I've said it twice but I haven't said enough; you're not stocking up for a war!! It's not gonna run out!!

People there, kinda rude too.
They walk without eyes. Just knocking into you, even if me or them, are carrying hot stuff. They dare bang into me! I'm hot stuff. WAHAHAHAHA. okay, lame. whatev.

People there, wasteful.
The table next to us, a table of 6 youngsters; I'd say 23-27 maybe.. First thing they did when they were seated, got up and went to get food. Normal, like most people. That's when it all starts! They take enormous amounts of food, tonnes of plates from sashimi to main courses to deserts.. and TONNES of wine and alcohol. About 2 glasses each. And when they left, at least 30% of what they took was left on the table and the wine, barely touched. If they're trying to make their money's worth by taking everything and just leaving there to be thrown away (or hopefully not recycled. EWWWW!! but i doubt so! nah.. ) then they've got pretty shallow mentality.

2. It kinda stinks in there
I was kinda put off by the stench when I stepped foot into the dimly lit, averagely decorated place. It had a pretty disgusting fishy smell. Sort of like when you walk pass the fish section at the market. I wouldn't say it's a big fault there, but if you're gonna use raw food to decorate your ice mountains, I expect you to do something about the smell? I can even picture the smell in my nostrils now. pukes.

3. No tempura
They have tempura, but it's just never there. One, they take ages, decades, centuries to fry it. Two, they have kiasu hurricane-stocking people who take EVERY SINGLE PIECE once it's out of the deep-fryer. There was a lady who waited there for him to get the tempuras done. I overheard her asking the dude how long it'll take; 15 mins he said. So I went back to my place, had some unagi, and went back after 10 minutes. Still not done. 5 minutes later, still not done. Lady; still waiting there. Now joined by a friend. Several times I went to check out, still not done. Until at one point, I think the guy gave up frying and there was no one preparing. Hence, pissed and put-off, no tempura for the night for me. Jap restaurant and you don't have sufficient tempuras????

4. Waiters and waitresses hardly trained.
The dude at the desert section, they display the pastries in the glass counter, you pick, and they take it for you. This short pms-guy took out the mochi that this aunty asked for, and placed it on the counter, 5-6 mochi(es) on the counter. not on the plate. when there's a WHOLE stack of plates there, on the counter, in front of him. and he placed it on the counter. Having the aunty need to put them on the plate herself. Where's your cow sense dude?? how hard is it to place the lil round stuff on the PLATE instead of the counter? Not like you have to walk somewhere else to get plates? It's right in front of you!
PS/ Mochi was eeeee to me.

Then there was the waitress. The coconut we took, it spilled onto the table without us knowing. The waitress saw, pointed it out, balanced the coconut on the cup with like that "ugh! you're so stupid, don't you know how to put it on the cup!" attitude, and I would've expected her to wipe up the spill; or at least bring a cloth or some tissue? She just walked away. o.O? Until my dad called her back to bring a cloth. Pfffts.

Few other incidences with the staff but, I won't go into that. No biggie. They're probably underpaid workers.

5. They need new dishwashers.

Wanted to get coffee, after the veryveryvery stressful ice-cream battle.. (refer to 1.) now what? no cups. not a single one!
Me: s'cuse me, where can I get mugs?
Waiter: No cup.
Me: Uhmm, ya.. I know.. so where can I get the mugs?
Waiter: No cup.
Me: *silence* So how?
Waiter: Come back 5 minutes.

Fair enough, I came back 10 minutes later, still no mugs. Asked again, wait again. Went back again, found ONE mug. and my dad took it. Probably someone put it back there. yuck! Even teaching the kids at work doesn't require this much waiting! or at least, I'm paid to be patient, not paying to wait. To the extent that I suggested to my dad to use the chinese teapot to fill it with coffee and use the glasses at our table. I was relatively kidding, but he took it for real, almost.

At the bar, not really considered as a bar, but the alcohols are there at the counter; red, white wine. and 2-3 funny-named cocktails. One was called "Wonderful" (lol sounds drugged) and another was AK-47 // Kangkang in 26 years; Sprite + Vodka?? So anyway, the wine was served in, well, wine glasses. After an hour or so, I guess they ran out of glasses, they had to serve the wine in plastic cups. LOLROFL. The plastic cups like those you drink milo ping, ice lemon tea, kopi ping at Asia Cafe or Ming Tien. ROFLLOL once more.

6. The food.

I must say, they have a WIDE variety, western and stuff. But why would you go to a Japanese retaurant, matter of fact a Japanese buffet to eat WESTERN food??? Can't you go to a Western Buffet for that? They had abalone and stuff, like RUBBER. R-U-B-B-E-R. Total jaw-exercising-material. The food wasn't all that great either.

I give this place a 5/10? Maybe 4.

Plus-points for them for this clip system thing. You order the food by placing the table number clips into the bowl and they send it to you. And it comes pretty quick too. So thumbs up to that!
And then the toilet bowls, are those you find in Japan, the ones with the heater, water to wash your butt stuff that you can play around with. Ahh, now I just miss the times I got to play with the buttons in the Japan hotel few years back. I wonder if the one at Jogoya works. LOL.

Another plus point! ..... ...... ......... well sorry, can't think of any.

If you're saying, for the price you pay, there's a widewidewide variety of food there so it's worth it. I must say, I don't think you'll be able to eat every single type of food there in one night? Even if you can, will you enjoy it? Don't know about you, but for me.. I'd rather pay the same price, maybe less or more, for less variety, but better quality of food.

I regard this place as, a high-class version of Shogun.

Yeah yeah yeah, go ahead, mock me. I can't sing, but I mock others on tv. But hey! they're on tv for a reason, this is what they signed up for; mocks.

Nevertheless, I'm soooooooo glad and relieved that they saved Matt! Though, I doubt he'll make it pass next week; but who knows! It's like the first week I see the girls chipping in on discussion on who to save. Then again, it's kinda expected for them to use it this week since next week is the last week.

AI 8: Songs from the Movies

I'm back with Idol blogging! Last week I had a pass on it since the familia went out for dinner at Jogoya, hence, missed the show at 6pm. Btw, have yet to blog about Jogoya.. will do next!

Songs from the movies, I must say the best today for me, is Anoop.. For like, the whole performance. As for best rendition, in terms of changing the tunes and stuff, Allison for me! But her voice was shaky at the start, same goes with Kris Allen. Kris Allen wasn't as great as Kara described, but not as bad as Randy said either. I still think his To Make You Feel My Love was the best. Tbh, I expected someone to sing I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing (Aerosmith), but that someone was Danny. However Allison did a pretty decent job on it. Compared to David Cook's rendition last year, I think hers is better.

Matt Giraud. I don't think the judges gave him enough credit for his performance. and anyway, i'm a hopeless for guys on piano :):):) especially with a voice like his! Like his The Fray - You Found Me rendition 2 - 3 weeks ago, I'm counting on the studio version being better than live. Seriously, if MattG were to perform live like what he did in studio, would've been awesome.

Adam, as usual, was.. as usual.

I'd say Allison, Matt, Lil Rounds are at highest risk for bottom 3. Allison and Matt, because they're both great singers, but somehow Americans don't seem to see that. Lil Rounds, because, she's good, but not great enough compared to the rest.

Then there was another student of mine, who recognised his sister's cry. I mean, really o.O
There was this girl crying outside the class, and he instantly knew it was his sister. So I asked him how'd he know.. he said, quote "because she always sounds like that when she cried". LOLS

Anyway, regarding yesterday's AI.. Scott left :( boohoo! But seriously, I know I've said it more than once or even twice, that Scott ought to leave.. Compared to Anoop, seriously! I think Scott deserves to stay more!! Ahh well, that's life for you my friend.

Okay, back to Wednesdays routine; IDOL.
In short, I didn't think anyone was great today.

Except for the fact that Scott really shined tonight. At least, to me.
I noticed, when the songs are free for them to pick, THEY NEVER DO WELL. Like seriously.

When they announced that Danny's gonna sing Rascal Flatts, totally not shocking. But his version was pleasantly fresh. I loved it, at first... not really the end. To me, overall it was good. But I thought his Danny-blow-your-mind-out-vocals were a bit too abruptly fitted in? But, his performance was kinda moving, although incomparable to Kris Allen's performance two weeks ago, i think. or three. BUTBUTBUT I STILL LOVE HIM XOXO

Then there was Scott, I kinda liked his nothing-but-emotions-and-piano performance tonight. For the first time since auditions, I like his performance. And last week, yet again, for the first time since auditions, I liked Adam Lambert's performance.

Who else were there? Okay, Matt Giraud. I LOVED the first part of You Found Me, his rendition, but it all went downhill from there. Unlike Danny's, he didnt manage to pull it off. This, uhh.. not for me :( I'm afraid he may leave tomorrow BOOHOO!!!!

And lastly, Kris Allen! He's been giving great performances the past few weeks. I've got a hunch which tells me he's probably the black sheep in the competition, who'll probably be in the top 5, 3 or even 2. Pretty good consistency.

Last week, Adam Lambert stole all the hearts. This week, no stealing, but no giving back either! :) Despite his screechy hyena voice, he's good la. You gotta acknowledge it, Wennie. LOL

As for the rest of them, none good done.

Among the bottom three, SERIOUSLY, why does Scott get to stay? o.O Dontcha think the family dude-oil rigger has a better voice than Scott? I mean really. So sad.. you could really feel the sincerity in him. Especially when he was watching his "journey" on idol. (totally beats Alexis Grace's reaction. like =.= only)

Anoop, on the other hand, kinda reminds me of Danny Noriega or wtv his name is. was it the TMTH dude? The one i loathed, but yet Americans seem to be soooooooooo in love with him and vote for him every single time.

Oh and yes, Stevie Wonder is legendary.

I loved Matt Giraud since hollywood week, all with his piano thingy and stuff. He kinda lost it for the past 2 weeks, and today, he. is. backk!!! Seriously, when they did the recap thing at the end of the show, his part sounded like a "new" (or, unknown) song, if i hadn't watch him perform the song. Sounded brand new :) He's starting to grow on me. yay!

Well, Anoop. He's back, mhmm! I liked him, yet again, during his audition all with his personality and voice. Then he lost it the past few weeks, and he's back again today. :)

Personally, Danny Gokey, still my favourite; but comparing the two Carrie Underwood renditions of the night, hands down, applauds and cheers to Matt Giraud and his piano.

The boyband-ish dude, Kris Allen, his performance today was okay too, very, soulful.. but vocals still, nah-nah for me. Probably a feel-good-soul singer album would do him great.

So the best performance today goes to MATT GIRAUD!!!! followed by, DANNY GOKEY! and Anoop.
[the girls was kinda a let-down tonight; especially Alexis Grace :( *i didn't know she's 21* o.O!!!]

Slumdog Millionaire anyone? Yeah, that (to me, overrated) movie makes more bucks by doing a re-make of the soundtrack, Jai Ho featuring PCD. Don't get me wrong, the movie's good; but 8 Oscars is kinda a big hoo-ha for me. Nevertheless, soundtrack, hands down, is good.

Anyway, I just wanted to comment; if you're gonna do a new version of this song, sing it right?? I mean, hello! even the producers didn't bother to correct them/her.

Yesterday, I drove in the rain. Doesn't help much that the sun wasn't anywhere in sight. It was at night. The air-cond, was cold. And it was at the lowest speed.

Today, I drove home from KLCC. Doesn't help all that much either that it was raining, heavily.

Then i drove my dad to Tmn Tun.. to have his head, balded even more. HAHAHAHAHA
and since it was Pasar Malam night, i had to squeeeeeeze the car through the lane, with cars double parking on one side, and cars parked on the other. Yeah, my mom was panic-y :S

After that, I drove home. and parked the car in the house! at the mommy-car-parking-spot.. which is senget-ed. woohooo!~ dad was all "LOOK OUT FOR MY CAR.. AAAA LEFT A BIT!!! LEFTTTTT.. dont scratch my car!!" and mom was all "WALLLL... RIGHTTT... TURN RIGHT!!! MIRRORSSS"

.. and I just went "SSSSHHHHHH !!!!!!" :D
